Its real‑steel counterpart was created by SilencerCo — a company renowned for producing high‑end suppressors and assisting customers with regulatory approval. Their extensive experience in suppressor technology directly influenced the development of this highly unconventional firearm.

The real Maxim 9 is one of the only commercially available handguns with a fully integrated suppressor. It is also among the very few suppressed firearms with adjustable length and performance. To solve long‑standing issues of weight and bulk associated with suppressed handguns, SilencerCo engineered a modular baffle‑system that results in a much lighter and shorter platform than traditional suppressor setups.

In its short configuration, the real Maxim 9 offers hearing‑safe suppression for subsonic ammunition. In its full‑size configuration, the same applies to standard ammunition — making the Maxim 9 a remarkably versatile suppressed handgun unlike anything else on the market.

The Maxim 9 GBB follows this philosophy by using premium materials and a precise manufacturing process. The frame is made from reinforced polymer with a textured surface for secure grip, while the enlarged trigger guard ensures ease of use with tactical or insulated gloves. The suppressor housing and slide are CNC‑machined from black‑anodized 6061‑T6 aluminium. The optic cut is compatible with Krytac’s multi‑footprint plate supporting RMR, RMRcc, and RMS optics (plates sold separately).

The chosen materials ensure excellent durability against scratches and external damage, guaranteeing long‑term reliability of all internal mechanisms. The Maxim 9 accepts both green‑gas and CO₂ magazines without modification. Included with the replica is a 24‑round CO₂ magazine. The pistol is fully ambidextrous and equally suitable for right‑ and left‑handed users.

The modular suppressor section replicates the appearance and function of the real system. It is shaped to accept an extension kit (sold separately) compatible with the Acetech BiFrost tracer unit. For this purpose, a fixed threaded inner barrel is installed to hold the tracer securely. Additional integrated KeyMod slots allow the mounting of flashlights, lasers, and specialty accessories.
